My internship experience has taken me from facilities consulting and field engineering into the world of themed entertainment and project management. Most recently, I worked with Walt Disney Imagineering, helping deliver Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and The Magic of Disney Animation / Animation Courtyard from development through turnover. I managed 400+ turnover deliverables, processed 100+ change requests, supported $15M in project scope, and worked alongside Facility, Ride/Show, Creative, Controls, Safety, Procurement, and Park Operations through testing, commissioning, and opening. One of my favorite parts of the experience is a small easter egg I was able to leave behind, a parking violation with my name and Cleveland’s area code located near the 11th row of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster.

Immediately after Disney, I joined Universal Destinations & Experiences as a Project Management Intern with Asset Management Programs, supporting 14 projects across 6 PMs throughout attractions, infrastructure, F&B, and back-of-house facilities. From Jurassic Park to Harry Potter and every Universal and Spielberg hit in between, I worked through site walks, OACs, drawing reviews, mockups, logistics, estimates, proposals, procurement, and change management while helping keep scope, schedule, and budget moving in the right direction. Universal was especially full-circle for me as my first visit was in 2014, standing in Jurassic Park as a ten-year-old obsessed with the movie. I definitely never expected that I would come back years later and help work on the same places that made me love theme parks in the first place.

Before themed entertainment, I worked with Turner Construction Company on Georgia Tech’s $250M Tech Square Phase 3 Expansion, supporting field coordination, MEP inspections, 750+ fire alarm devices, subcontractor management, and turnover of 150+ deliverables. I also spent two summers with ECS, gaining experience in building envelope consulting, property condition assessments, field testing, infrared thermography, construction monitoring, and QA/QC. Together, these experiences have given me a unique view of projects from both the technical and management sides; from understanding how something is designed and built to how it is coordinated, operated, and ultimately experienced by the people it was created for.
